The Peace Hill hike on St. John  is a very easy one, but nonetheless very rewarding. It begins at a Parking off Northshore Road, about half a mile after Hawksnest.

A 10minute walk on a well-maintained trail with moderate incline brings you to a breathtaking view over Hawksnest, Dennis Bay.

There is a ruin of a windmill that was powered by the trade winds. Speaking of winds, there used to be a statue “Christ of the Caribbean” which overlooked and blessed the land and sea. It withstood numerous hurricanes. However, it finally succumbed to the strength of Hurricane Marylyn in 1995. It was decided not reconstruct the statue.

True to its name, Peace Hill is a truly peaceful place, there are rarely any crowds and it is great for a picnic and watching the sunset. It was voted as one of the top 10 romantic places to see while on honeymoon on St. John.
